Prince Rogers Nelson June 7, — April 21, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, actor, and filmmaker. A guitar virtuoso known for his genre-crossing work, falsetto singing voice and flamboyant stage appearances, Prince is regarded as one of the greatest musicians of all time. Prince pioneered the late s Minneapolis sounda funk rock subgenre drawing from synth-pop and new wave.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, MinnesotaPrince developed an interest in music as a young child and wrote his first song, "Funk Machine", at the age of seven.

Prince released Crystal Balla five-CD collection of unreleased material, in The distribution of this album was disorderly, with some fans pre-ordering the album on his website up to a year before it was shipped; these pre-orders were delivered months after the record had gone on sale in retail stores.
The retail edition has only four discs, as it is missing the Kamasutra disc. There are also two different packaging editions for retail; one is a four-disc sized jewel case with a white cover and the Love Symbol in a colored circle while the other contains all four discs in a round translucent snap jewel case. The discs are the same, as is the CD jacket.
